Testing For JDCM and Xanthinuria
Most of the breeders on the Club Breeder Register now routinely test any dams and sires they might be considering breeding from for JDCM (Juvenile Dilated Cardiomyopathy) and Xanthinuria. The testing involves sending swabs from the dogs to be tested to the Canine Genetics Lab at the University of Minnesota. But what are these conditions – and why is testing important ?
